Let me start!
Iâm from DĂźsseldorf, Germany.
My favorite food is probably ramenâespecially after spending some time in Japan during my parental leave recently! đ
What I hope to get from this community: Iâm really excited to connect with other saxophone enthusiasts, learn from great artists, and get inspired to practice more consistently myself.
Fun fact: My dad is actually a super passionate saxophone player! He picked up the instrument after he retired and has been absolutely loving it ever since. Iâm secretly (or not so secretly) hoping heâll join this community too at some point. đ

Hi All,
David here from Adelaide in South Australia. I reconnected with the saxophone after retiring, and I quickly regaining my passion for the instrument.
My saxophone journey started when I was at school and I had the ambitious goal of learning to play Bebop. I had enthusiastic teachers, but the lesson structure didn't teach me about the Bebop music and how to engage with the form. Rather I was bombarded with scales and chords - told to learn them but without a context of why I need to knowledge. It was like learning all the words in the dictionary before I could form a sentence.
Now music is more important than ever to me, and it is proving to be my redemption following the loss of Iqbal, my wife. Iqbal recent endured nearly two years of my early practice and was always encourging me, even after the many hours of long tone and overtone work.
My continuation on my saxophone journey, allows me to honour Iqbal in a positive and sharing way.
At present, my primary horn is a Yamaha 62 mark 1 with a custom V1 neck in solid silver. This I couple with a Ted Klum Yardbird HR mouthpiece with a 7 tip opening and Select Jazz reeds (filed). However, I recently purchased a SML Gold Medley in search of a more vintage jazz sound. The SML is currently being serviced with a full replacement of pads.
Personal facts - I love all food, especially Malaysian cuisine. My second passion is motorcycles and I ride a Royal Enfield Interceptor and have 3 Honda CB400/4s from the 1970s that I'm slowly restoring.
Life after retiring - is fantastic, I only wish Iqbal and I had had more time together to enjoy this stage of life. It is amazing how personal passions can occupy my time that result in a busy and enjoyable times.
I joined this community to: 1. increase my network with others who are passionate about the saxophone and 2. learn from expert musicians to improve my ability to play the saxophone with increased musicality.
I look forward to a pastiche engagement with the community.
Speak soon

Hi,
I'm Pierre Alex from Switzerland. I'm 51. I decided to begin saxophone after long years of singing and playing guitar. I bought a S6 soprano yanagisawa from my birth year (1974) and begun to take private lessons in March. I'm looking forward to additional insights from Tonebase. I'm very pleased by the quality of the content. I tested a lot of web-based content for ny guitar playing and I can that what I observe on Tonebase is at a very high level. I was about to forget it: my favorite food is the food from my mother's country Cameroon: Plantain banana, foufou, magnoc, ... What I'm wating from the community? FriendshiĚp.and inspiration, I guess

Hello, my name is William, I'm 56 yo, my favorite food is pizza (only a few types, made with the typical recipes of my area, Salerno). I'm from Italy and I like being able to be part of a community where I can exchange opinions, read reviews and increase my knowledge about this instrument and the world of music.
